Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge Disappointment! I used to buy this foundation in its original formula and Loved it! Now the color doesn't match my skin tone at all!! It's a lot darker and not even close to the radiance it used to give my face before. Please BRING back the Old Fomula!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best foundation ever! I'd used YSL former Touche Eclat Foundation, but color became too dark. DR60, I think it was. (My skin had been darker from medication.) At that time, you had no other R shades. It was actually always a little too dark. Since then, newer line and more shades in R, this one BR40 Cool Sand and it's absolutely perfect shade and silky as ever! I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this foundation! I got this during the sale because I've been hearing so many good things about it. I'm so glad I did because it is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I absolutely love the finish and it lasts all day. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're on the fence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My purchase ever! Just the perfect foundation, and I've tried many. Not too drying, and not too oily! Great coverage, but light at the same time. My skin glows! Does NOT accentuate the lines! My skin looks alive and healthy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very dissapointed in new formula. I knew something was up when I received this. It wasn't the same formula as the previous version. WHICH I USED TO LOVE!! Please bring it back! Do not like the new formula at all. The color is off and the end result isnt flawless like before. :( So sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The new formula is a downgrade I have used the original Touche Eclat for years. It looked perfect on my skin, in rain or shine. The new formula is so much worse -- it doesn't give the same dewy look, and the shades do not match my skin at well. Please offer the old one again alongside this new product so customers have a choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skin problems and dirty brush I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. Then several days later I opened it and used with the Y brush. A couple of days passed and I started breaking out. The brush collects a lot of product and I struggled to clean it but could not get all of the product out of it. My aesthetician thinks I have contact dermatitis and now I am afraid to use either the foundation or the brush. I need to return it and get a refund. I would ke for customer service to contact me.

Date published: 2016-10-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed in the new formula I've been using Touché Eclat for years, and was smitten! But then it was "improved upon". I share the sentiments of other reviewers- the revised formula has lost the wonderful features of the old. The texture is quite a bit drier, and does not leave the beautiful, seamless glow it once did. Fine lines and imperfections are more emphasized. The colors are also different, and are no longer are a good match for my skin tone. The "Rose" is gone from the Rose Beige formula. Quite disappointing- I'll be looking for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love love love I liked the old formula but LOVE the new formula! As an older woman with dry skin this makes my skin appear younger and brighter. This foundation does just what it claims to do, I could not be happier. Please continue making this formula!!! I also use the blur primer with gold flecks in it and that really makes a big difference. I am such a fan, this is my holy grail foundation. LOVE this foundation!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So sad that it's been reformulated I've been using this foundation for years. BD40 was my PERFECT match, and I've been ordering it online ever since. This morning I opened a new bottle of my usual BD40, finding out that it had been reformulated, and not only is the formula significally worse (thicker, not nearly as dewy) but the color has been changed from a light/one the neutral side shade to something that on my skin looked really orange. Dark orange. The full bottle of foundation I might as well throw away. I later went to the store to try to find a new shade, thinking I could live with the formula if they at least made a new comparable shade to the old BD40, well - they didn't. So I'm now on the hunt for a new perfect foundation yet again, and the only thing I'm sure of is that it won't be one from YSL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So disappointed. I always used the old formulation for my rosacea prone skin. It was one of the best formulations on the market as it did not have any of the ingredients that irritate my skin. Now I have to find a new product and head back to my dematologist. The new version is such a disappointment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old formula!!!! I loved this foundation UNTIL they reformulated it. Please make the old formula available again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the new formula I was a big fan of the old foundation my shade was b50 it was amazing shade , when the new foudation arrived i bought it in the same previous shade tone but then i realized that the foundation is sooo dark on my skin and it's gives me a dirty look :( i repurchased a new shade and i pick bd25 this shade match me very well . I really like it it's gives me full cover with satin finish

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy I have been using the foundation since it it first came out and made the mistake of buying it with the new formulation without trying it out first. I was counting on it being the usual quality that I would expect from YSL. I tried it once, immediately removed it, and am ready to just toss the bottle. It makes my skin appear uneven, shows every imperfection, even my husband noticed. Save your money!
Date published: 2016-09-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old formula!!! Just tried the new formula and I hate it!!! My coworkers noticed a difference in my skin immediately. I guess I need to look for a new foundation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap glass bottle The color was a bit darker than the previous bottle I had purchased of the same shade. It was fell out of my hands with the first week of having it and the bottle completely shattered!
Date published: 2016-09-03
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same as the original formula Please YSL bring back the original formula of this foundation!!! This is a completely different product now. The old foundation was the only one on the market without a hint of a matte finish...the new one is matte like every other foundation out there! Please bring back the old formula, I know so many people are disappointed that they have lost their hg foundation.
Date published: 2016-08-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formulation is horrible I have worn Touche Eclat for over two years and loved it until they changed the formula. Let me paint you a picture -- I bought a new bottle, unaware of the change. When putting it on I thought it looked somewhat darker and the texture seemed different. When I stepped out of the bathroom, my boyfriend audibly gasped. My face was orange. New BD40 is much, much darker than the old BD40. So I went to the store and exchanged it for a lighter color, but it still looks pretty awful. Somehow YSL has managed to also eliminate all of the qualities of the original that made it so appealing -- the light texture, the beautiful way it looked in natural and artificial lighting, the super dewy finish. The new one is cakey and much thicker. Basically, I have never been so disappointed in a makeup product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wait, what? Is this a joke? I have been using this stuff forever- BR30 was my ride or die. The new formulation is a nightmare; wrong tone, wrong finish, wrong texture. It's all wrong. Returned. Au revoir, Saint Laurent.
Date published: 2016-08-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why did you change the formula?? I used the Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation for years and reordered my perfect match color without realizing you changed the formula. My sacred BR30 has totally changed undertones and sadly no longer works for me. Color change is evident when viewing the bottle of the old and new side by side. Such a shame you changed the product so dramatically. Will definitely return and search out a new match.

Date published: 2016-08-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did they change the formula and colors?! This used to be the hands down best foundation EVER put on the market. I ran out of my old B30 and purchased the "new & improved" version at the end of June. I wasn't able to find the right shade (tried three different ones!) and find the new formula to be much heavier on the skin. Very disappointed.

I usually have to touch up with a little powder late afternoon. However, I work in a very hot environment. In a regular environment I'm sure that it wouldn't be necessary. I love this foundation, it matches my skin perfectly and feels wonderful. I'm so glad that I found it!

WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR FOUNDATION COLOUR?
Asked by: Anonymous
I really don't know the most popular colour. But is does not really matter what is the most popular. You have to find the right shade for your skin tone. I use BD40 but it all depends on your skin tone and time of year. I buy a darker shade in the summer because I get a little darker. I think when they launched this specific foundation the samples they sent out were B30, which may mean that the color will match a lot of people with fair skin tone. I am all for the right match. I would visit a YSL counter and ask them to make me a sample to wear the foundation in natural light. Then decide.

I'm sorry to say I don't have the right answer for you. I'm pretty fair, but will tan in summer. I bought two different shades to compensate for the season. I use BD10 now in the winter months and combine it with the BD40 in the summer and fall. I also have yellow undertones. Sorry I have no better information for you.

I am Asian, too. My skin is yellow and white. I bought B10. To tell the truth, I do not think B10 is the best for me. But I tried B20 and B30 in Nordstrom. B20 is too red for me and B30 is too dark for me. Although I can not find the best color for me, I still buy B10, because I really love the smell of YSL foundation.

Asked by: MariC
Based on the color you mentioned on teint radiance, b80 or b90 are the closest to your color on le teint touche eclat. this is a matter of preference if you want to stay alittle darker or lighter than to your skin... or use the same color as your skin color. I would contact YSL and ask them to help you choose. but I think the closest to that shade is the ones I mentioned. hope this helps and enjoy shopping and your new foundation. I love mine and I am planning to buy 3 more on my shade in le teint touche eclat because it's the best foundation.

Asked by: mollyc
Hi again, Molly: I allow myself to quote the comment from Trish E. below (it will give you more info about the differences): "Trish E: Le Teint Touche Eclat is sheer-medium coverage with a natural finish. It lasts all day but it doesn't have a dewy finish like Teint Radiance. Le Teint Touche Eclat makes it look like your skin is flawless, it doesn't look like you are wearing foundation (even up close). It's a great everyday foundation but I still use Teint Radiance for parties and such (when I want my skin to look dewy)."

BR50 looks good for rosy undertones with medium tan complexion. I have used BR40 and I am light-med. I like this makeup as it is light, good coverage, smells nice too and the rosy is not too pink. Maybe chooose a light powder also for winterevents as the surface is almost like a moisturizer and powder blush is not too easy to apply right after foundation.

I have fair skin, I want to tone down the pink color in my face, does this new foundation have a number with a slightly yellow undertone for the fair complexion?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would not recommend a warm (yellow or gold) undertone for skin with cool undertones. It will make your skin look unnatural. You can still wear a pink-based foundation that tones down pink coloration. BR20 is really the best match for fair skin with pink undertones. If you want to try a different undertone go with B20 since it actually has neutral (neither pink or yellow) undertones. However, BR20 will look more natural than B20.
