Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula 180 from original I've been wearing this foundation for years. The old formula was a 5/5. It was what made me a loyal YSL beauty customer. The new formula leaves much to be desired. It has a dry, matte finish compared to the luminous, dewy finish of its predecessor. It also seems a bit white-cast, like sunscreens. I would no longer recommend this foundation and will be looking for a replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They have changed the formula Make sure to check the dates on the wonderful reviews...they ones from 3 and 4 years ago are from when they had the old foundation, NOT the new one. This product used to be absolute perfection. Now, sadly, it is nothing like the original. I do not recommend it to anyone now. I was a devoted customer, I wore nothing else. I despise when companies change a product that has a cult following.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its a little different .......chalky? Fragrance?? Ive been using this and every other time I wear it this product will look super dry and accentuate texture issues. Ive tried with the blur primer and with porefessional (which I don't recommend!!) Your skincare has to be right on key or you will look chalky and dry. I use a buffer brush and use organ oil. The concentration of fragrance in this is just too high. Ive been using the older one for years and this new one I feel that my skin does not like it. My skin is becoming irritated with repeated use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So dissapointed with the re formulation I have been using this foundation for several years and was so pleased with it as it gave such a natural dewy finish. When I purchased the latest bottle a couple of weeks ago the store assistant told me that it had been re formulated with more coverage and sunscreen but that it still has the same radiant finish and light texture. I was so disappointed. It has a white pasty note coming through. It looks a bit better in artificial light but in daylight it's as if I have a really heavy sunscreen coming through the foundation. I'm a bit pale skinned and the old formulation gave my skin a lift. This one makes me look pasty and dull skinned. Please bring back the old formulation. I would much prefer to have moisturiser with spf on underneath rather than all the spf in the product. As for the coverage my natural flaws coming through are preferable to the drab look of this foundation. I would prefer to use concealer on any areas needing coverage. Sorry but I'm off to find an alternative after nearly 10 years using this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I have been using Touche Eclat foundation for a few years. I recently bought a bottle and was very dissapointed. The previous foundation gave your complexion a dewy finish, the new reformulated version gives your skin a dull finish....the coverage is also not the greatest. I am very dissapointed to say the least.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring back old formula! I don't want to exaggerate (but i will) this is the most beautiful foundation ever created. However, i am SOOOO upset they changed the formula and now the colors are NOT the same as before. I have gone through about 4 bottles of this beautiful face ink created by the makeup gods, and this past week i pick up my regular color (BR 30- im white as milk and this was the most natural looking foundation ever) and i noticed the bottle had black letters, instead of the gold. And in my head i thought, hmm well, the make up gods wouldnt ruin/change the ONE perfect color that i finally found after years and years of trying to match my white face.. But of course, as soon as i applied it i noticed a total difference. I am beyond sad. For all you ladies that are fair with dark hair and can never get the RIGHT foundation color bc either you look like casper or an umpa loompa, you will understand why this is so sad. Anyways, this product is amazing, just please please YSL MAKEUP GODS, bring back the old formula, it had the perfect tones and the texture was so amazing for those of us with dry skin :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for normal or dry skin I was so disappointed with this foundation and how it performed. It felt soooo drying and looked awful cakey and dry with just one layer. I really liked the original formula and wanted to like this also but it is so different from the original and definitely not an improvement. It settles into fine lines and just feels awful on the skin. I will not be using this foundation or recommending it to anyone at all. YSL bring back the original and if you do change a winning formula change it for the better not the worst. It really makes one look older.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Foundation for EXTREMELY PALE OLIVE SKIN My DNA consists of mostly Native American, Czech and Irish, so my skin ended up extremely pale/fair, but with olive undertones from the American Indian side. If any of you out there have the same thing going on, you'll get what I mean when I say that our unique skin tone also happens to be a curse! It is so So impossible to find a brand 1. that carries a foundation pale enough to even be considered and then 2. one that doesn't wear too pink or too yellow/orange...and we're not really neutral either, but milky with golden, olive undertones. I have searched high and low for a good foundation with great coverage that matches my skin, and I am so happy that I don't have to look anymore! It can get really discouraging!! lol Seriously, guys, to all my fair skin, olive peeps out there, get this foundation in B10. It will be life changing!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This is by far the best foundation I've tried. I have super oily skin and this is the only foundation that seems to work well with my skin and also the only makeup I've been able to find that blends in well with my perfectly neutral skin tone (B30). I would not recommend this for someone looking for a heavy coverage makeup but if you have somewhat good skin and only need lightweight, hydrating coverage then certainly give this a try! It is pricey, especially for a college student like myself, but a little bit goes a long way and it is worth every penny as this is a high-end product where you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this I love this foundation. It won't work for people that have supper oily skin or someone that has skin that needs a lot of coverage. I think people that don't like this foundation don't like their own skin. I am a professional makeup artist and usually when people don't like the way their sin looks it because they can see the texture of their blemish's or scars. That's one thing to remember when looking at foundation, foundations are only to even out your skin tone. So just remember that when your looking at your foundations. This one evens out skin tone so perfectly and having such a range of shades is why I love this foundations! It will make your skin look so youthful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great range of shades; illuminating I was so excited to find Beige Rose 20 in this foundation -- I am fair with pink undertones, freckles and auburn hair, and this shade matches my wintertime skin nearly perfectly. The foundation is medium coverage so I do need to apply additional concealer for undereye circles or any major blemishes. It applies beautifully with a foundation brush over a primer and lasts all day, and the finish is what I'd call "satin" - not shiny but not matte. My one complaint is that I do feel I need to apply a bit of finishing powder over this to make it less transferable; I find that this foundation shows up on scarves, coat collars, my cell phone, etc. which is frustrating. It does minimize pores and doesn't settle in the fine lines on my forehead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At last, the perfect shade for natural redhead with fair skin! This product is exactly what I desired in a foundation; perfect match to my fair skin, medium coverage - enough to cover without looking like a mask, seems to minimize fine lines and pores, lasts all day, without irritating my sensitive skin. I never thought a product that was ideal for my skin tone, texture and temperament existed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite foundation I purchased this foundation after watching a video on the YSL Beauty website. I had been looking for something to help my skin look better in photographs. This product does the trick and when I wear it, I am constantly complimented on my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I've been waiting to try this forever after hearing so many great things about it! I was a bit skeptical to try it though just because I have oily and acne prone skin. However, I think it's fantastic. I haven't had the chance to wear it through a whole day, but I'm going to update as soon as I have. But just from wearing it for a couple of hours, I love it. It gives pretty good coverage and was a great color match. It also gives such a nice natural finish, and is hydrating which is nice for the winter time. I definitely recommend this. Xx

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT IMPRESSED,RUNNY AND HARD TO WORK WITH THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST FOUNDATIONS IVE TRIED AND IVE TRIED THE MAJORITY OF HIGH END AND LOW END FOUNDATIONS ON THE MARKET,when i first brought this foundation i wanted to like it,the first time i tried it,i couldnt get any coverage at all,you could hardly tell i was wearing anything, until one of the ysl girls told me you need to use a brush to get any coverage,(not everyone wants to use a brush)the second time i tried it with a brush which was better i managed to get maybe sheer to medium coverage, which wasnt enough for me,it was also that thin and runny it settled in my fine lines,i also ended up with brush strokes where it took the foundation back off again in places if i went over the same area again trying to build it up as it took ages to dry,the consistancy is terrible and its realy not an easy foundation to work with,i had to spend alot longer than usual on my foundation to get it right, and even then it wasnt any better a finish than some drugstore foundations, the overall finish was not great.it also contains the dreaded ingredient propylene glycol which for those of us with very sensitive skin is a big no no,my doctor has told me to stay away from this ingredient.YSL seem to be discontinuing most of their foundation lines in replace of the teint touch eclat which is very dissapointing if this is the foundation that we will be left with, the only plus point i can say about the foundation is that it has a vast array of colours to suit different skin tones apart from that i think its an expensive load of rubbish.dissapointment for me im afraid

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! I LOVE this foundation! I purchased it after trying so many different kinds, from cheap drug store foundation to sorta high-end to high-end and I just wasnt happy with anything! I have nice skin but it tends to be on the dryer side, I also have freckles and this foundation is perfect for me! It has buildable coverage and my skin just soaks it all in, it's super hydrating and leaves my face looking flawless! I dont even need concealer when using this foundation. I highly recommend this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love! I love this foundation! It has a wonderful gel texture. It does not break me out, which just about every foundation out there does. It gives a beautiful radiance to the face. It also has an adjustable coverage. It goes on great with fingers , a brush, or a stippling brush. I have very oily skin and this isn't the best foundation for it, but because it doesn't break me out I will continue to use with my oil control lotion. I think this would be absolutely divine for dry or normal skin. Absolutely worth trying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I absolutely love this foundation. Covers imperfections nicely, makes my skin looking young and fresh. One of the best foundations on the market! I use it sometimes with two lovely things from YSL that help a lot - 'Top Secrets' Pore Refining Skincare Brush and 'Top Secrets - Flash Radiance' Skincare Brush. The combination takes no less that 15 years off my real age.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Touche' This is my new favorite beauty product. I have been searching for a new foundation for two years now. This product does not cause breakouts for me, which I often have problems with foundations containing SPF. I purchased this product while I was in England this month. I like the amount of coverage, weightless feel, and luminosity. I also like the pump feature. The foundation is not the same as the Touche' E'clat pen, but has similar properties. I am trying to think of ways to describe this wonderful foundation, but all I can say is that it looks as if I am not wearing makeup, yet my skin glows. I feel confident wearing it.

Hi,I want to choose a foundation with high coverage, and I heard that this foundation has a spf30 edition, so how can I buy it? Please answer my question, thanks very much!
Asked by: ChengL
This foundation has the highest coverage in the YSL line. If you have oily skin, it may not be the best foundation for you, do to meltdown around the T area and nose, particularly. The next choice would be Fluid Ink. Not as much coverage, but the foundation does not move. It stays put all day long. I use Touché Éclat in the fall and winter when my skin is drier and Fluid Ink in the spring and summer for oily skin in Louisiana humidity.

I recently had a sample of B50 from the lady at the counter. I have problems with redness (poss mild rosacea) and found a slightly darker shade than usual toned it down. I absolutely loved it so bought the product but it was a completely different colour!Much darker. I was given my money back but am desperate to find the correct colour and buy it again. I've just noticed here that is b50,BR50 and BD50 so maybe I had a slightly different one? Can anyone please advise?
Asked by: MariaC
B is more of a neutral, BR has more of a rosey tone, and BD has more of a yellow/golden tone. I find that B tends to be lighter than either BR or BD; I believe BD was the darkest of them. I am always in between shades, so I ended up buying 2 bottles - B and BD of the same #, and did a custom mix for myself.

Why do we only see how to apply the foundation on already flawless skin. Of course it all looks so simple - she looked fully perfect before a drop was applied. Frustrating. Can we see some videos where makeup is applied to non-models or to people with skin like the other 99.5% of your clientele?
Asked by: Anonymous
I have been wearing foundation for many years, and applying it is not even as important as knowing what type of foundation is right for you. If you watch some of the info shows on television, most of the time the women are not smiling and wear no makeup, and after application they smile and have full makeup on. If you trust the company, and understand the type of foundation that works well on your skin, it would be far easier to experiment yourself -- or even better, go to the counter, in this the YSL counter, and talk to a makeup artist or the line girl. Then perhaps have her instruct while showing you how to apply it. You will be the model in your own video!

It goes on smooth and provides a radiance and that is unmatched. You ask what is the difference between this makeup, it is made so that it is natural, medium/light coverage and is great for those over 40. The matte makeup which this is not, is for those under 20-40 who have no lines, or wrinkles. I have been using this for a few years since first introduced and is light and weight-free and allows my skin to look beautiful, evens the complexion and allows for radiant young skin! Give it a try!

Hello- this foundation has very sheer, lightweight coverage. While it will help tone down redness to give an overall healthier appearance to your skin, it definitely won't cover scarring. Le Teint Touche Éclat is more of a perfecting foundation, for those whose skin doesn't have any huge issues. In a sense, it does make what you have look better...but it won't completely transform the skin. There are many other full coverage options available however. Good luck!

Hi, I was matched up to BD40 and got a sample and it just was perfect it blended in and couldn't see anything, I but later on in the day I noticed a slight yellow undertone that didn't match my neck, I swear it wasn't there when I put it on, I applied my make up in natural light so I just didn't understand, since then I have checked the chart and the colours don't make sense the BD30 is darker than the BD40 and the beige shades in B30/B40 seem even darker, I guess I must be beige, so my question is which beige shade is as soft/light as the BD40 (which I love) minus the yellow? please help I'm so confused : ( TY

If I use the Touche 'Éclat Foundation, will I still need to use the Touche 'Éclat Radiant Touch pen? I love the pen, by the way; it works very well over my current foundation.

This foundation is for a beautiful radiant natural look, so not suggested to those who want a more sophisticated and fuller coverage. But you will need the pen to compete a radiant complexion. I work for YSL and all my customer absolutely LOVE it, but wouldn't suggest to women who don't like a natural foundation. Better going for Youth Liberator Serum Foundation, Teint Resist or Perfect Touch.
