Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap glass bottle The color was a bit darker than the previous bottle I had purchased of the same shade. It was fell out of my hands with the first week of having it and the bottle completely shattered!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same as the original formula Please YSL bring back the original formula of this foundation!!! This is a completely different product now. The old foundation was the only one on the market without a hint of a matte finish...the new one is matte like every other foundation out there! Please bring back the old formula, I know so many people are disappointed that they have lost their hg foundation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formulation is horrible I have worn Touche Eclat for over two years and loved it until they changed the formula. Let me paint you a picture -- I bought a new bottle, unaware of the change. When putting it on I thought it looked somewhat darker and the texture seemed different. When I stepped out of the bathroom, my boyfriend audibly gasped. My face was orange. New BD40 is much, much darker than the old BD40. So I went to the store and exchanged it for a lighter color, but it still looks pretty awful. Somehow YSL has managed to also eliminate all of the qualities of the original that made it so appealing -- the light texture, the beautiful way it looked in natural and artificial lighting, the super dewy finish. The new one is cakey and much thicker. Basically, I have never been so disappointed in a makeup product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wait, what? Is this a joke? I have been using this stuff forever- BR30 was my ride or die. The new formulation is a nightmare; wrong tone, wrong finish, wrong texture. It's all wrong. Returned. Au revoir, Saint Laurent.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why did you change the formula?? I used the Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation for years and reordered my perfect match color without realizing you changed the formula. My sacred BR30 has totally changed undertones and sadly no longer works for me. Color change is evident when viewing the bottle of the old and new side by side. Such a shame you changed the product so dramatically. Will definitely return and search out a new match.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did they change the formula and colors?! This used to be the hands down best foundation EVER put on the market. I ran out of my old B30 and purchased the "new & improved" version at the end of June. I wasn't able to find the right shade (tried three different ones!) and find the new formula to be much heavier on the skin. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product change not good My mom, my best friend, and myself all religiously wore this foundation and they have recently changed the formula to add more sunscreen-per Neiman Marcus, and it's horrible and Cakey! Very disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back old formula Dear YSL, please listen to your supporters and bring back the old formula. I bought this last week and it's def not dewy. Too cakey on my skin, will not be wearing this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula 180 from original I've been wearing this foundation for years. The old formula was a 5/5. It was what made me a loyal YSL beauty customer. The new formula leaves much to be desired. It has a dry, matte finish compared to the luminous, dewy finish of its predecessor. It also seems a bit white-cast, like sunscreens. I would no longer recommend this foundation and will be looking for a replacement.
Date published: 2016-07-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from They have changed the formula Make sure to check the dates on the wonderful reviews...they ones from 3 and 4 years ago are from when they had the old foundation, NOT the new one. This product used to be absolute perfection. Now, sadly, it is nothing like the original. I do not recommend it to anyone now. I was a devoted customer, I wore nothing else. I despise when companies change a product that has a cult following.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its a little different .......chalky? Fragrance?? Ive been using this and every other time I wear it this product will look super dry and accentuate texture issues. Ive tried with the blur primer and with porefessional (which I don't recommend!!) Your skincare has to be right on key or you will look chalky and dry. I use a buffer brush and use organ oil. The concentration of fragrance in this is just too high. Ive been using the older one for years and this new one I feel that my skin does not like it. My skin is becoming irritated with repeated use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So dissapointed with the re formulation I have been using this foundation for several years and was so pleased with it as it gave such a natural dewy finish. When I purchased the latest bottle a couple of weeks ago the store assistant told me that it had been re formulated with more coverage and sunscreen but that it still has the same radiant finish and light texture. I was so disappointed. It has a white pasty note coming through. It looks a bit better in artificial light but in daylight it's as if I have a really heavy sunscreen coming through the foundation. I'm a bit pale skinned and the old formulation gave my skin a lift. This one makes me look pasty and dull skinned. Please bring back the old formulation. I would much prefer to have moisturiser with spf on underneath rather than all the spf in the product. As for the coverage my natural flaws coming through are preferable to the drab look of this foundation. I would prefer to use concealer on any areas needing coverage. Sorry but I'm off to find an alternative after nearly 10 years using this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I have been using Touche Eclat foundation for a few years. I recently bought a bottle and was very dissapointed. The previous foundation gave your complexion a dewy finish, the new reformulated version gives your skin a dull finish....the coverage is also not the greatest. I am very dissapointed to say the least.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring back old formula! I don't want to exaggerate (but i will) this is the most beautiful foundation ever created. However, i am SOOOO upset they changed the formula and now the colors are NOT the same as before. I have gone through about 4 bottles of this beautiful face ink created by the makeup gods, and this past week i pick up my regular color (BR 30- im white as milk and this was the most natural looking foundation ever) and i noticed the bottle had black letters, instead of the gold. And in my head i thought, hmm well, the make up gods wouldnt ruin/change the ONE perfect color that i finally found after years and years of trying to match my white face.. But of course, as soon as i applied it i noticed a total difference. I am beyond sad. For all you ladies that are fair with dark hair and can never get the RIGHT foundation color bc either you look like casper or an umpa loompa, you will understand why this is so sad. Anyways, this product is amazing, just please please YSL MAKEUP GODS, bring back the old formula, it had the perfect tones and the texture was so amazing for those of us with dry skin :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for normal or dry skin I was so disappointed with this foundation and how it performed. It felt soooo drying and looked awful cakey and dry with just one layer. I really liked the original formula and wanted to like this also but it is so different from the original and definitely not an improvement. It settles into fine lines and just feels awful on the skin. I will not be using this foundation or recommending it to anyone at all. YSL bring back the original and if you do change a winning formula change it for the better not the worst. It really makes one look older.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Foundation for EXTREMELY PALE OLIVE SKIN My DNA consists of mostly Native American, Czech and Irish, so my skin ended up extremely pale/fair, but with olive undertones from the American Indian side. If any of you out there have the same thing going on, you'll get what I mean when I say that our unique skin tone also happens to be a curse! It is so So impossible to find a brand 1. that carries a foundation pale enough to even be considered and then 2. one that doesn't wear too pink or too yellow/orange...and we're not really neutral either, but milky with golden, olive undertones. I have searched high and low for a good foundation with great coverage that matches my skin, and I am so happy that I don't have to look anymore! It can get really discouraging!! lol Seriously, guys, to all my fair skin, olive peeps out there, get this foundation in B10. It will be life changing!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This is by far the best foundation I've tried. I have super oily skin and this is the only foundation that seems to work well with my skin and also the only makeup I've been able to find that blends in well with my perfectly neutral skin tone (B30). I would not recommend this for someone looking for a heavy coverage makeup but if you have somewhat good skin and only need lightweight, hydrating coverage then certainly give this a try! It is pricey, especially for a college student like myself, but a little bit goes a long way and it is worth every penny as this is a high-end product where you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this I love this foundation. It won't work for people that have supper oily skin or someone that has skin that needs a lot of coverage. I think people that don't like this foundation don't like their own skin. I am a professional makeup artist and usually when people don't like the way their sin looks it because they can see the texture of their blemish's or scars. That's one thing to remember when looking at foundation, foundations are only to even out your skin tone. So just remember that when your looking at your foundations. This one evens out skin tone so perfectly and having such a range of shades is why I love this foundations! It will make your skin look so youthful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great range of shades; illuminating I was so excited to find Beige Rose 20 in this foundation -- I am fair with pink undertones, freckles and auburn hair, and this shade matches my wintertime skin nearly perfectly. The foundation is medium coverage so I do need to apply additional concealer for undereye circles or any major blemishes. It applies beautifully with a foundation brush over a primer and lasts all day, and the finish is what I'd call "satin" - not shiny but not matte. My one complaint is that I do feel I need to apply a bit of finishing powder over this to make it less transferable; I find that this foundation shows up on scarves, coat collars, my cell phone, etc. which is frustrating. It does minimize pores and doesn't settle in the fine lines on my forehead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At last, the perfect shade for natural redhead with fair skin! This product is exactly what I desired in a foundation; perfect match to my fair skin, medium coverage - enough to cover without looking like a mask, seems to minimize fine lines and pores, lasts all day, without irritating my sensitive skin. I never thought a product that was ideal for my skin tone, texture and temperament existed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite foundation I purchased this foundation after watching a video on the YSL Beauty website. I had been looking for something to help my skin look better in photographs. This product does the trick and when I wear it, I am constantly complimented on my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I've been waiting to try this forever after hearing so many great things about it! I was a bit skeptical to try it though just because I have oily and acne prone skin. However, I think it's fantastic. I haven't had the chance to wear it through a whole day, but I'm going to update as soon as I have. But just from wearing it for a couple of hours, I love it. It gives pretty good coverage and was a great color match. It also gives such a nice natural finish, and is hydrating which is nice for the winter time. I definitely recommend this. Xx

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT IMPRESSED,RUNNY AND HARD TO WORK WITH THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST FOUNDATIONS IVE TRIED AND IVE TRIED THE MAJORITY OF HIGH END AND LOW END FOUNDATIONS ON THE MARKET,when i first brought this foundation i wanted to like it,the first time i tried it,i couldnt get any coverage at all,you could hardly tell i was wearing anything, until one of the ysl girls told me you need to use a brush to get any coverage,(not everyone wants to use a brush)the second time i tried it with a brush which was better i managed to get maybe sheer to medium coverage, which wasnt enough for me,it was also that thin and runny it settled in my fine lines,i also ended up with brush strokes where it took the foundation back off again in places if i went over the same area again trying to build it up as it took ages to dry,the consistancy is terrible and its realy not an easy foundation to work with,i had to spend alot longer than usual on my foundation to get it right, and even then it wasnt any better a finish than some drugstore foundations, the overall finish was not great.it also contains the dreaded ingredient propylene glycol which for those of us with very sensitive skin is a big no no,my doctor has told me to stay away from this ingredient.YSL seem to be discontinuing most of their foundation lines in replace of the teint touch eclat which is very dissapointing if this is the foundation that we will be left with, the only plus point i can say about the foundation is that it has a vast array of colours to suit different skin tones apart from that i think its an expensive load of rubbish.dissapointment for me im afraid

I purchased it after trying so many different kinds, from cheap drug store foundation to sorta high-end to high-end and I just wasnt happy with anything! I have nice skin but it tends to be on the dryer side, I also have freckles and this foundation is perfect for me! It has buildable coverage and my skin just soaks it all in, it's super hydrating and leaves my face looking flawless! I dont even need concealer when using this foundation. I highly recommend this product!

WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR FOUNDATION COLOUR?...

WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR FOUNDATION COLOUR?
Asked by: Anonymous
I really don't know the most popular colour. But is does not really matter what is the most popular. You have to find the right shade for your skin tone. I use BD40 but it all depends on your skin tone and time of year. I buy a darker shade in the summer because I get a little darker. I think when they launched this specific foundation the samples they sent out were B30, which may mean that the color will match a lot of people with fair skin tone. I am all for the right match. I would visit a YSL counter and ask them to make me a sample to wear the foundation in natural light. Then decide.

I currently use estee lauder double wear 3w tawny 37. They have changed their formula. I would like to try this foundation but BD40 appears to be to light. I am a white/hispanic 50+ with brn hair, eyes and yellow undertones. Can you suggest a better match?
Asked by: TinaB
I'm sorry to say I don't have the right answer for you. I'm pretty fair, but will tan in summer. I bought two different shades to compensate for the season. I use BD10 now in the winter months and combine it with the BD40 in the summer and fall. I also have yellow undertones. Sorry I have no better information for you.

I am Asian, too. My skin is yellow and white. I bought B10. To tell the truth, I do not think B10 is the best for me. But I tried B20 and B30 in Nordstrom. Asked by: MariC
Based on the color you mentioned on teint radiance, b80 or b90 are the closest to your color on le teint touche eclat. this is a matter of preference if you want to stay alittle darker or lighter than to your skin... or use the same color as your skin color. I would contact YSL and ask them to help you choose. but I think the closest to that shade is the ones I mentioned. hope this helps and enjoy shopping and your new foundation. I love mine and I am planning to buy 3 more on my shade in le teint touche eclat because it's the best foundation.

Asked by: mollyc
Hi again, Molly: I allow myself to quote the comment from Trish E. below (it will give you more info about the differences): "Trish E: Le Teint Touche Eclat is sheer-medium coverage with a natural finish. It lasts all day but it doesn't have a dewy finish like Teint Radiance. Le Teint Touche Eclat makes it look like your skin is flawless, it doesn't look like you are wearing foundation (even up close). It's a great everyday foundation but I still use Teint Radiance for parties and such (when I want my skin to look dewy)."

BR50 looks good for rosy undertones with medium tan complexion. I have used BR40 and I am light-med. I like this makeup as it is light, good coverage, smells nice too and the rosy is not too pink. Maybe chooose a light powder also for winterevents as the surface is almost like a moisturizer and powder blush is not too easy to apply right after foundation.

I have fair skin, I want to tone down the pink color in my face, does this new foundation have a number with a slightly yellow undertone for the fair complexion?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would not recommend a warm (yellow or gold) undertone for skin with cool undertones. It will make your skin look unnatural. You can still wear a pink-based foundation that tones down pink coloration. BR20 is really the best match for fair skin with pink undertones. If you want to try a different undertone go with B20 since it actually has neutral (neither pink or yellow) undertones. However, BR20 will look more natural than B20.

Le Teint Touche Eclat is sheer-medium coverage with a natural finish. It lasts all day but it doesn't have a dewy finish like Teint Radiance. Le Teint Touche Eclat makes it look like your skin is flawless, it doesn't look like you are wearing foundation (even up close). It's a great everyday foundation but I still use Teint Radiance for parties and such (when I want my skin to look dewy).

It does not look like it's on the YSL website anymore. But I can assure you that YSL Teint Resist has not been discontinued. It is available online at department store that carry YSL.
