What it is
The opulent decadence of the Eau de Parfum captures the overtly sensual spirit of the original parfum designed by Yves Saint Laurent, only in a lighter spray form. Striking notes of mandarin and bergamot are made mystical with middle notes myrrh and jasmine. A final accord of deep amber laced with Opoponaux imbues the scent with its celebrated rapture. Love the original Opium Parfum!

So disappointed that you changed the formula
I struggled for years to find a perfume that smelled good on me. Nice in the bottle but not so nice once I tried it on. Apparently that has to do with body chemistry. In 1981 I was given a bottle of the original Opium parfum and absolutely loved the scent. I was surprised to find that it smelled just a good on me as it did in the bottle. I was so happy to finally find a perfume that I could wear and constantly got compliments on it. I was so very disappointed when the formula was changed. It is so different from the original. I rarely get compliments now. I’ve always used both the original parfum and the Eau Ed Parfum and loved them both. Now it seems that every bottle I buy smells different from the last one. I continue to use it because it’s the only scent I can find that doesn’t smell bad on me but it is nothing like the original. Are there any plans to bring back the original scent?
