You can, of course, put it on heavier for more coverage but just a light application of this foundation evens out my skin wonderfully. It stays on well even over moisturizer. I have dry skin and this feels just divine going on and does not dry out during the day. • Answer I find the coverage to be lightweight, yet medium in terms of the actual foundation. I have normal to dry skin and I am in my early 50's. It is not a heavy or "cakey" type foundation even though it is cream. When I apply a translucent powder the coverage is fuller, but again very even and lovely. I prefer a creme foundation for winter and then go to the liquid in Spring and Summer. I have used YSL foundations for years now and would not use anything else! by sharon f 04/18/12
• Answer This is a product that really is better than the rest. The trick is to only use a little bit. I use a quality sponge to put it on and that allows me to quickly spread it. I can get the same effect with a brush but I am better with a sponge even though everyone says it 'wastes' product I have ordinary skin, aging, nothing special (unfortunately) but when I use this I have gotten compliments on my skin and questions about 'do I use foundation' 'what brand'. I have tried other products at price points $50 and up and this really stands out and, I think, is worth the price. I wish YSL, Nordstrom, Chanel, Bobbi Brown and Sephora would hire more middle and older age saleswomen with ordinary skin so we can get honest, well-informed assistance. by Christine S 04/18/12

I love this foundation. It is not inexpensive, BUT, it lasts a long time. I purchase probably every 6 months or so.

for a light, easy to apply foundation...took a while to realize how little it takes for sheer coverage

It is for older skin so I tjougjt I would try it. I have tried everyone elses brand and not getting the effect they claim so we will see if YSL is as good as they claim.
