  • Answer YSL asked me to answer you question. I doubt they still make the soap.If you have been wearing Rive Gauche for very long (me 37 years) you shoud have noticed that it does not smell the same. The orginial had a very long lasting after smell which I loved. It also smelled very strong when you first put it on.It had to clam down for about 30 mins. The info that i have been able to get is in 2000 they changed the formula to the one now. I have not been able to get skin lotion or powder. In the 70's I could get all kinds of Rive Gauche products, by the 90's hardly any. I wish I could still buy the original, I guess the new is better than no Rive Gauche at all. by Denise H 04/15/12

Have loved this fragrance since first sampled it in Europe many years ago on a student trip!

I started using Rive Gauche in 1984 and I have never found a fregrance it is and always be my favorite. Rive Gauche is definitely my husband's favorite.
