Unfortunately the shaver does not close any holes to eliminate spillage. The metal shaves the compacted powder so that you receive fresh illuminating powder. You do have to be very conservative with how much you shave or else you may have extra powder shifting around. However, there is a plastic piece that comes with the product that helps it to not spill during travel. This product is great and makes you feel so rejuvenated and even has the best fresh smell to it! Mar 5, 2012

I in fact have one of these, the answer is no. It doesn't spill any powder. Think of it as a grater, from what I can see, the power underneath is pressed powder and the metal twist only serves to grind the powder. I hope this helps.

Keep the plastic insert to keep the innards tidy. The cicles do not have a close function but instead work to release more powder as you turn.

There is little to no shimmer in this powder. It's a very nice light feeling powder, though. If you want more of a shimmery look, I'd go with a bronzer of some sort.

I purchased the sand and the undertone is a ecru /yellowish in color. A very nice product. It appears to be a pinkish in the chart, but it is more yellow. Hope this helps.

I just use it as I would use regular powder. I use a regular powder brush not the one provided with the powder. I just shake off the excess on the brush then lightly brush on my face. It is a really nice powder and sets any makeup foundation beautifully.
