Question I believe some Perfumes can smell quiet different from one person to another due to the oils in their skin etc I'm told - True or False - I'm sure we have all at some time had someone ask what we are wearing and when told they say "it dosn't smell that nice on me!! Just Curious?

I have known several different women who wore Opium and while there is a subtle difference in the scent from one woman to another, I would say that it is less pronounced with Opium that with many other fragrances by MARK P G 04/17/12

• Answer Sadly to say yes. Opium has been my signature perfume for more years than I care to admit. Last November, I purchased the eau de parfum version direct from YSL. I've always purchased edp or secret de parfum, until that was discontinued. The new bottle has a soapy scent to my nose, and it's not a good addition. • Answer This product is PHENOMENAL. I love the new design. It lasts a very long time. The scent's deep richness is intoxicating. Most important - the Parfum is the ONLY cologne I will wear. Eau De Toilette just doesn't have the richness of flavor. Everybody asks - especially men - what am I wearing. When I tell them Opium, I've had quite a few either say on the spot that my Opium doesn't smell like that, or come back and challenge me because theirs isn't quite the same. Question I adorre Opium Perfume and Have bought it for many years and have contstantly had wonderful comments on it and many men have inquired as to what it was so they can purchase for their wives ( True Story) However - since the New Bottle has come 0ut I think there is definitely a change in the fragrance - Yes it is still stunning - but I think not quite the same as it was before - What has been changed? • Answer Staff, To state that there might be slight variations in intensity in your product insults the purchasers of this product. If a product as ICONIC as OPIUM once was, can admit that there is a variation, that tells me there is is a break down in quality control. i.e. A person buys a bottle of toilet or parfume for upwards ,$90-110 they will not get expected quality, but the same person could buy the product and spend $200.00 can expect to be satisfied. That is total abuse of the loyal customer. You should, as a company look to have most of your customer base satisfied not just the higher end . Opium was once one of the largest department store displays has gone the way, might I dare say , the product of VARIATION. I was in the audience of the Ellen Show this week and saw Emily Blunt as the guest. She was telling us about the shoot for this perfume and I wanted to try it out! She is so beautiful!

I have always preferred the Eau de Parfum to the the Eau de Toilet. I am not a big fan of the new packaging, but the fragrance is still great.

I like the EDP since the scent is a bit more intense and lasts longer than the Eau de Toilet, which has a lighter scent and does not last as long.

My dad used to give this perfume to my mom as a gift. He likes the scent. He's been looking for it at the mall everytime we go but it's always not available.

If anyone knows Opium they never stray. I join all others who know who they are and what they like.
