- Answer This gorgeous shadow has a smooth matte finish- it's really almost like a satin. It is a beautiful shade, applies and blends so very effortlessly, has no fragrance, lasts hours and hours without fallout or creasing although I admit I usually use a primer. - Answer Yes, there is a slight shimmer, but I'm 66 and it looks great (I'm blonde and Nicole Kidman fair). I don't wear heavy makeup nor am I heavy handed with anything I put on my face. This is a lovely eye shadow that has a very nice consistency. During the day, I apply it very lightly. On two occasions, I've applied two coatings (it was for evening events and I wanted a little more of a dramatic effect, sort of a smoky eye). I used a clear powder to set the first coat, let that set for a minute then applied a second coat of shadow. I received a lot of compliments that night.
