Elena P: It is good, but not as good as the standard Volume Effect Faux Cills. Half way through using the first tube the mascara started to dry, formed small lumps on my eyelashes and even crumbled towards the end of a hectic day so that I saw the dry black particles on my lower eyelids. Jane H: The Shocking Mascara has a full volume effect. If too much mascara gets on the brush wand in application, I use a brow/lash brush to take it off. It has a more dramatic effect than the Mascara Singulier, but then it just depends on what type of look you are up for at the moment. Mar 26, 2012

Absolutely amazing! I have not worn mascara for years because of allergies and such; I'm so pleased to have found a mascara I can wear everyday without a problem. I've had no problem with flaking nor smearing with this mascara and am thrilled to have found such a wonderful product especially for someone like myself who is over 50.

Sadly I returned it. It wasn't buildable for me and didn't give me enough definition. When applying a second coat it became very clumpy. It may be different for someone else. Everyone's lashes are different.

I really liked it in the beginning, and ordered a 2nd tube. It also didn't turn my undereyes black below my bottom lashes. However I did feel that it dried up sooner than other mascara's I've used.

I'm not sure what you are specifically asking. You choose the mascara that best suited for you by reading first the manufacturer's description of the product, what it is supposed to do, and then if you have the opportunity to try it on at the cosmetic counter in your local department store, then try it and see if you like it. The YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking provides maximum volume as well as elongates and separates your lashes. In my opinion it makes your lashes look amazing.

Personally, as a blonde, I prefer colored mascara during the summer and holidays. Effet Faux Cils Shocking comes in colors, but nothing too obvious. Also, it never smudges, runs or breaks lashes by too much wax (or whatever other companies put in there).

I don't know because I have blue eyes and have only tried the various colors on myself. I recommend you go to the YSL counter at your department store and try them all on for yourself.
