Theresa D: I use BB gel liner and find it dries out, hope this is better. I love gel liners!
OK so I have used this now, and it is a great blue color last all day, the texture is strange and maybe a little harder to apply. I have dark blue eyes with yellow rays, sometimes my eyes look green. The blue is not screaming loud but does bring out my eyes. I hear blue eye color is back for spring 2013. Guess I got lucky on that one. Now the question is what shadow to pair with it???

A shopper asked: Hi - I'm tempted to try this product, but concerned about the the pot drying out too quickly. This has been a big problem with other brands that I've purchased. Wondering if YSL would be different.? I have smaller dark brown eyes. Best, Nancy Aug 14, 2012

gina c: this is my 3rd pot. none of them ever dried up and i use them daily until they are empty. the gel remains smooth and soft unlike my experience with bobbi brown's gel eyeliners which are dry even when brand new. i use this every day since i discovered it in the spring of 2012 and i will never switch. it's awesome!! Agnieszka B: Hi Nancy! I've been using YSL eyeliner for about two months now and I haven't noticed the gel to get dry at all! It's still soft, silky and goes on smooth. It's really worth the money. Just to be sure - Close the lid after each use. I don't recommend leaving any makeup product open for that matter. Enjoy! Anies Aug 14, 2012

Susanne B: I bought the black eyeliner in May, and mine has not dried out yet. I keep it tightly closed when not in use, and I like it a lot. I wear it most days (even though I'm retired and not going to work) and find it wears well. You can make a very fine line if you use the right brush. Aug 14, 2012
Reply to Susanne Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Debra B: I have found that the product has remained soft and creamy in the pot, even though it dries quickly (and is smudge-proof) once applied. I do make sure to keep the lid screwed on tightly - I'm sure you would too - and I haven't had a problem. Aug 14, 2012

Monique H: I recommend dark purple, brown and dark blue for dark green eyes. For an intense look, line the top of your eye with dark purple and your lower lashline with black or brown. Jul 21, 2012

Julie H: Depends on your skin tone. If gray clothes normally make you look good, then ashy black will look good on you. Black is classic, but harsh. If you are going to use thin lines, then black is ok. Otherwise, I think ashy black will be a nice, sophisticated option. Dec 24, 2012
Reply to Julie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Diana R: I find that black is becoming a little too harsh so I've been leaning toward dark grays. I haven't seen the ashy black but i'd imagine it's not so black. Sooo I guess I'm saying ashy black. Dec 24, 2012
Reply to Diana Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Noreen M: I would go with the ashy black. It would better compliment your eyes. Love this product - stays on all day always looking fresh, buts comes off easily. Dec 24, 2012

Barb G asked: Can this be used to line the INNER eyelid? Mar 10, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nancy C: I have not tried. I only do the top eyelid in a "winged" style and I think this eyeliner is great! I like the Marilyn retro look! You should try it with red lips. I must add. I'm an eyeliner junkie. And have bought all the high end brands and this one is one of the best! Mar 10, 2012

Yvette K: Hi
I found this eyeliner to be very 'wet'. It transfer-ed very quickly when I used it to line my upper lash line and I sent it back. I would advise against the inner eyelid as it would get extremely messy. Hope this helps.

Barb G: Thank you -good to know about the consistency of the eyeliner. Mar 12, 2012
Larissa I: I personally never use the cream eyeliners on the inner eyelind, only the pencil ones. However, I believe it can be used on the innder eyelid though the applicator for it has to be very thin and preferably bended. Mar 12, 2012
Reply to Larissa Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Barb G: Thank you. I find the pencil doesn't apply well or adhere for long. Guess I haven't tried the right brand. I do like a brand that has the applicator you describe but it does come with a pot of cream liner.(which always dries out eventually. I think I will give pencils another try as lining the inner eyelid seems to be flattering for my eye shape and color. Mar 12, 2012
Larissa I: Right, I wish I could recommend more but I am not a professional makeup artist so I won't attempt. For reference, I use Chanel eyeliner pencil in Coffee Bean shade (other Chanel shades do not work for me) and apply it closer to the lash line (on the lower eyelid) as opposed to inner eyelid. I also make sure to use mascara on my lower lashes so that eyeliner doesn't look goth:) Mar 12, 2012
Yvonne E: I actually do not do that - at least not since college. Based on the formula, you can lightly line the inner eye. Mar 10, 2012
Reply to Yvonne Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Barb G: Thank you, Yvonne. I do better with inner lining not on top due to my eyelid and eye shape/color. Mar 12, 2012
A shopper asked: could you use the eyeliner on your eyelids as a base? Oct 1, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
carol g: I think you probably could but you would have to use it very sparingly. When I use it as a liner, I blend it near the base of the lashes as if I had used a soft pencil. I can definitely see it as an accent color but I don't know about as a base. All you can do is try it. It certainly can't hurt. It's meant for your eyelids anyway ;-) Oct 1, 2012

Yvonne E: Oh , absolutely, no! It is an eyeliner, not a base. And why would you want to do that? !!!!!!!!!! Oct 2, 2012
Reply to Yvonne Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
gina c: I agree that you cannot and should not use it as a base. it is purely an eyeliner. Nov 21, 2012

Larissa I: Cream Eyeliner Brush from YSL ($25). I bought mine 6 months ago but it is totally useless and messed up now so I need to get a new one. The line will not be super thin with this brush, however, it is draws a nice accurate line. May 28, 2012

Yvonne E: You can use a stiff eye liner brush. Nars and Mac have quality ones. Benefit has a slanted eye liner brush. May 31, 2012
