I have dark brown eyebrows and use light brown or even taupe but you should feather the strokes and then blend. I recently had a professional picture taken for my jewelry website bessheitner and invested in a makeup session. For the camera they do everything totally differently. The woman said they always use black for dark eyebrows even if you'd ordinarily use brown for everyday wear. Don't know if this is helpful. I'm not a makeup expert just a designer but I do love YSL products.

The color #5 Ebony is the one I suggest you try. I have blackish eyebrows and this color is a perfect match. Like you I tied the dark brow color and I did not like the way it looked on my brows. I hope this help you to make a decision.

I would go with the pencil color closest to your natural color hair. If tou are blonde get the pencil color slightly darker than your lightest shade of blonde. If you hair is dark go a little bit lighter than your darkest shade of brown.

I have used this eyebrow pencil for years and I love it. Occasionally I have tried another kind and they are never as good. One really good thing about is that you can sharpen it very fine and make tiny strokes that look natural.
